I'm currently using a LM2575 adjustable switching regulator.
My voltage is adjustable 5V - 6V with 1A rating.
My inductor selection size should be 330uH but i'm currently using a 470uH 1.2A
Here is my question.
Will a slightly higher than recommended inductance size affects the overall performance?
As Gumy said , ripple current will be lower and hence capacitor dissipation will be lower. , which is good.
On the negative side the inductor I2R losses may be higher due to the extra windings to get higher inductance.
You will have to see which is better for you , there is no hard and fast rule here.
Cheers
