hello
i have a few question about the Gilbert mixer. in the picture we have the basic gilbert mixer circuit
i read that
1) transistors M1-M2 should have overdrive voltage(Vgs-Vt) between 200mV and 400mV. why is that??????????
2) transistors M3-M6 should have overdrive voltage(Vgs-Vt) close to zero
again why??????????
and 3) resistors RL convert the current to voltage at the output of the mixer. how much voltage should we have in the drain of the transistors M3-M6(at the output)??????????
thanks for your time
