it is said that human eyes can reach a DR of 100~120dB, and resolve a max resolution of 24bit image. but I find 24bit*6.02=144 is not equal to 100 or 120dB. what's the relationship between DR and bits?
thanks in advance!

DR- dynamic range is the ratio (or difference in dB) between the maximum and minimum light intensity. Bit resolution of a camera or an eye is an angular resolution of a picture or a scene.

You are comparing different quantities, like a contrast available of a photo camera, and fine resolution of a picture taken with it.
