I was wondering if the DC motor controller that I installed in n the rc car that I am putting together puts the full battery voltage across the motor in forward and also rverse, or if it is 1/2 the voltage for forward and the other half for reverse. Unfortunaately I cannot access the unit or any data I haave for it right now. It is all at relatives house/ I can't remember the model number, but is there any generalized answer to that question? I am trying to decide whther to hook up a 9V or a 12V battery.

It would be wasteful to use half the available power so I would guess it uses a bridge driver to allow 'almost' all the battery voltage to be used in one direction or the other.

By 'almost' I mean there will be a small drop in the driver circuit but nowhere near as much as half the battery voltage.

Brian.
