gray code to binary code using rom encoder

Hi I am a graduate student Mr Pansoo Kim. ^0^

Please give ear to my question.

In adc encoding method, I saw many papers that quasi-gray encoder is faster than rom encoder.

But I can't understand it.

I have knew that quasi-gray encoding is that first convert the thermometer code to guasi-gray code and then to binary code.

Therefore quasi-gray encoding isn't faster than rom encoder because quasi-gray encoding include rom encoder.

How about you?

I think the speed compare between quasi-gray encoding and gray encoding not binary code. The quasi-gray encoding need to be added between thermometer and binary code to decrease the metability error.
