pwm for driving fuel gauge
I am looking in to driving a standard fuel gauge. From what I understand, the sender unit in the fuel tank is basically a resistor, and as the level of the fuel changes, the resistance changes, and this changes the current in the fuel gauge and it moves the needle. Right? Well......
I have been seeing some references to the fact that PWM is used to drive the fuel gauge. My questions are:
- Is this true? It is not a DC voltage?
- How is the PWM related to the position of the needle?
- Does the resistance of the fuel sender change the PWM ratio?
