Hello guys,

I want to measure the power of a pulse signal with spectrum analyzer. However the problem is if the pulse signal has a low pulse width lets say 0.1us, the bandwidth of the main lobe of the sinc function from null to null will be very wide. 20 MHz for 0.1us PW. The resolution bandwidth of the SA cannot cover this range so it seems it is not possible to measure the power of a signal that wide. Maybe channel power can be used after max hold but in sweep mode is it possible to measure a pulse signal with wide BW correctly?

In SA i observe signals with peaks but if RBW does not cover the BW of the pulsed signals then i will see wrong results when i put marker on these peaks right?
