pspice advanced simulation smoke parameters

hi everyone could someone tell me if it is possible to chage the pspice models smoke parameters in orcad 17 pspice advanced simulation
could somebody please help

Re: pspice advanced simulation smoke parameters

smoke parameters

Although the name is strange, evidently this is a genuine parameter which has to do with stress on components, as seen from the results of an internet search of 'smoke pspice parameters'. You probably tried a similar search, is that right?

Re: pspice advanced simulation smoke parameters

hi i have done a search but i got a voltage regulator out of the advanced analysis library to do a smoke analysis of the power supply circuit and clicked on the voltage regulator and opened the model editor there were 5 or so parameters such as TJ junction temperature but i was hoping i could add parameters to the list of other smoke and simulation properties if someone could provide a solution

hi have built a citcuit in pspice a regulator circuit with pass transistors for more current i am using igbts but when i run a smoke analysis its tells me the max power dissipation is is to high for the igbt's but its only 24 watts when the max power disipation is 200 watts according to the datasheet but in the rated column is states it is rated at 3.669 watts so i went into the model editor and tried a few values in the power dissipation column and max juction temperature but that rated value would not change when i altered the parameters of the igbt so i don't know whats going on please could someone help i am desperate thanks

thanks for your help

With real hardware you would need a heatsink to dissipate 24W from a component. I don't know if pspice supports heatsinking, but if it does then it might generate that error, since you do not mention it anywhere.
