Hi everyone, new to the group here and have a question.

Can anyone recommend a proximity sensor that…
  1. Senses an approaching solid object (or a human hand) at 7” away
  2. Mounts on a PCBA
  3. Smallest physical size the better (ideally on a chip)
  4. Runs on 5V USB power (from a USB cable, and an international wall power adapter)
I tried PIR/Lens, VCNL4010 proximity sensor, single-channel proximity sensor, etc. with no luck. Some of these only get 1”-2” distance.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

(Disclaimer: I’m not an Electrical Engineer, just someone tinkering around)
