Hi,

I am trying to figure out how I can make a package for a connector device I have made where only two of the four pins are present in the pcb package.

Basically I have a new schematic part I have made to represent both sides of a PCB wire to board connector - one side sits on the PCB and connects to other parts of the circuit board, whilst the other side represents the wires that connect to a part off board, such as a motor (which I exclude from PCB layout in the parts properties). I have created the schematic symbol with four pins, two or which are labelled '1' and two are labelled '2'. When the p art is created Proteus warns that these will be linked in the netlist - this is fine since they will indeed be connected when the circuit is built. However when I try and assign a 2 pin pcb package I cannot leave the wire side pins blank (Proteus complains) and I cannot assign both pin '1's to pad 1 of the package (Proteus complains).

Is there any way I can resolve this? I've thought of a few options but cannot figure out how to implement any of them:
- Exclude the wire side pins on the schematic from PCB layout (preferable)
- Create a package with four pads, two of which are hidden and do not appear on the layout (not ideal as its a lot of effort)
- Create a package with four pads where they are stacked on top of each other so have no impact on the layout (not ideal as its a lot of effort)

Thanks in advance

Andy
