protel component placement

Hi
i have altium designer v15.0.14
i dont know how work with its component placement --> autoplacer
when i use it nothing happens.
in previews versions it worked but i cant understand it.
anybody has toturial or video link of this and how it works?
do you advise this method or manual placement?
