Protected Verilog is incompatible.

I have a protected verilog code which can be compiled with
VERILOG-XL 3.30.p001(NT-LDV3.3) and VERILOG-XL 2.5(UNIX-OPUS),
but why can't be compiled in VERILOG-XL 3.20.p001(Linux-LDV3.2)??
The error message is "Error! In protected region ",
If I install Linux-LDV4.0 or above, can solve this problem??
and LDV4.0 lice*se file same as LDV3.3??
