Hi all,

So i'm a CAD designer by trade, all very computer based, and i sometimes do graphics or website work - and have had no need to actually engineer much until this date, as i usually pass it over to mechanical or electrical.

But i'm creating a small prototype project, it hasnt got to be neat, it just needs to work.

In short, its a small pod that attaches to a bike so that people can see other local cyclists and have the option of agreeing or not agreeing to cycle with them. (some finer details but i wont go much deeper)

I basically need a small (around 2") round screen - to display an image ive created digitally, and have the potential to have small ''YES or NO'' interactions from 2 buttons. It has to be battery powered

Now, i basically want to know where, and how to start, what modules or equipment ill need, and how to do it .... I know its alot to ask, but i would appreciate any help from anyone just to get me off the blocks.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

did you mean that there should be an"yes/no" letters to be shown or an image should be displayed ?

you can give more info with some details , like what exactly you want to diaplay and what are the switches labelled to control it.

This sounds more like an App for a smart phone.
Frank

It is effectively an app, the issue is that it's specifically targeted at the ageing population as a demographic, and therefore can't be implemented into a smartphone as they don't use them (in general)

Instead this "app" will only have 2 interaction buttons (and an on/off switch I guess) one button will be the option YES and the other NO.

What basically will come up on the screen is a profile of a cyclist locally - and clicking yes, will send your profile to that cyclist, if you both click yes, you get matched and told where to meet. Clicking NO moves on to next profile.

yes I know Gps and trackers are needed and proximity sensors etc but for the prototype all I need it to do is Change the screen displayed if you click yes or no.....

For the prototype the main screen will show a profile, clicking the yes button should change screen to a "match" screen and clicking NO should change to another profile. This is all the prototype needs to do for now

Sorry I wasn't more descriptive, I realise this isn't an easy task - it would be fairly simple if I was just creating it into an APP you're correct
