I am trying to make a timer that speeds up over time. Going from .25HZ up to 100Hz. I thought maybe I could use a 555 in astable multivibrator mode, and place a transistor, with low value resistor above the collector in place of one of the resistors, and use a capacitor charge delay to open the transistor and gradually reduce the pulse interval time. This sort of works, but not the way I'd like, and requires an impractically large capacitor to make the change be gradual at all. I've searched around the internet quite a bit and I just can't find a simple way to do this. Any suggetsions?

Thanks, that sort of helps. Though it does just replace my problem with a new one. Now instead of trying to figure out the timer, now I have to figure out how to add something to gradually increase the voltage once the device is turned on.
