programming/user guide for ILI9340 or ILI9341

does any such thing exist? how are people programming these devices as the only guide i could find was the data sheet and its very very abstract e.g it does not tell whats a PAGE or whats FRAME , how they are related or any basic example of how to to write text or graphics to these displays.
