i build ICD 2 succesfully but i can't manage how to load stand alone hex file to target processcor in MPLAB IDE.i 'v been not familar with using MPLAB IDE yet.
for example i want to program target processcor with hex file test.hex located in
directory C:/ (path is C:/test.hex)
.How can i do that,i have tried many thing without success
Please help me!

In the menu FILE, go to IMPORT and select your hex file. It will load the hex into the program memory window. Sometimes an error can occur if you have not selected a programmer or the similator tool yet.

Hi,

To continue from the previus post.
1. Open MPLAB with no project open.
2. Click on Programer, Selecet programer, and chose the programe that you want to use.
3. Click on Configure, select device. and set to your target pic device.
4. Click on file import, and load the hex file that you want.
5. Click on Configure, select Configure bits and set to the appropriat bit configuration.
6. Click on the Download icon to program the pic with your software.
7. When you wil unplug the programer cable the pic will start runing.

Good luck.

thanks!
now i know the answer,but i wonder if i choose Programer-->Program
ICD 2 will start programming, then ICD 2 will program hex file which i import or another else?
Because MPLAB IDE don't display which hex file be programmed
Another question ,if i don't use import function but try to program then what's wrong?
