Which of these programs are really useful for proffessional hardware design? (i know some are just related to it)
- Pcad 2002
- Proteus (isis/ares)
- Protel
- Orcad Pspice
- MPlab
- Agilent ADS
- Sonnet EM
- Matlab
If any of these are for newbies, what software is really used for each part of design flow?
I've seen Orcad PSpice used for schematic capture more than simulation. I don't personally use it because I hate how clunky it feels in wiring up circuits.
(This was 2 years ago - has anything changed?)
Protel can be used for capture and simulation, too, but I use it exclusively for its PCB layout. It's not a bad piece of software for layout.
