opens on qfns

As compared to other packages, QFNs have wonderful thermal properties and are extremely small in size. Looking at their structure, it seems possible for it to go up to 30GHz at least. However, most companies offering high frequency MMICs packaged in QFNs hardly even reach 20GHz.

I tried having a thru line in a 7X7mm QFN package and true enough, return loss seem to deteoriate after about 17GHz. Probably some parasitics are involved. Does anybody have experience in handling such package parasitics? And how can they mitigated?

Im open to all kinds of crazy ideas!!... Pls help..!!
