what is the recommended os for 2002.05-sp1? Is it redhat 7.2?
It is very important to use the recommended os version for snps's products or otherwise you will get trouble in the GUI.

one time i can run gui rightly, but another time i am failed in rh8.
so i think the tool have some wrong things in 8.0. maybe 7.2 is a right choose

The problem come from the qt lib support in redhat . You can try other windows manager like twm or fvwm to see if it can run .
