JTAG Chain Cable Length

Hi,

for a new design I want to use a JTAG chain between multiple FPGAs.
The problem is, the FPGA are spread over an large area, so I will get problems with the cable length (>= 30 cm).

Can I put some LVDS tranceivers between the devices?
For example the ST Thomson STLVDS32 and STLVDS31 ?
Each of them will delay the singal for 2.5 ns

Has anyone tried this before?

Thank you for your answers

JTAG Chain Cable Length

LVDS transceivers are for 1.25V, or around there. Are you sure your JTAG's signals use those levels? There should be no problem with inserting buffers between the FPGA's however.
