Hi!
I have a problem with my amp. It's an old 2 x 200W (1 x 400W) pioneer. It works fine when gain is set to minimun, but even a bit more it starts to cut the sound. Any ideas?

Hello

maybe the input circuit does not have an correct alimentation.
Normaly car amplificator have an Ic at the entrance.
Check for the alimentation and insert an signal to the stage to see the behavior.

Regards

Re: Pioneer gm-4000

Try tying Orange, Red, Yellow, and Blue to Positive and see if it works.

Re: Pioneer gm-4000

if the amp is lying like it is in ur pic it would be a empty slot then the blue remote wire, then the yellow wire (for the lighting switch then the red wire witch goes to the ignition switch witch is on/off
