Hi,

After uninstalling Cadence PSD 15.0 on my Windows XP Pro, I have faced a problem of not being able to read any e-book with *.chm extension. But, after some investigation I’ve found a solution. During the installation PSD erroneously have reassigned the following keys in windows registry:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{9D148290-B9C8-11D0-A4CC-0000F80149F6}\InprocServer32

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{9D148290-B9C8-11D0-A4CC-0000F80149F6}\InprocServer32

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{9D148291-B9C8-11D0-A4CC-0000F80149F6}\InprocServer32

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{9D148291-B9C8-11D0-A4CC-0000F80149F6}\InprocServer32

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{5D02926A-212E-11D0-9DF9-00A0C922E6EC}\InprocServer32

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{5D02926A-212E-11D0-9DF9-00A0C922E6EC}\InprocServer32

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D54EEE56-AAAB-11D0-9E1D-00A0C922E6EC}\InprocServer32

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{D54EEE56-AAAB-11D0-9E1D-00A0C922E6EC}\InprocServer32

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ITS FILE\DefaultIcon

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\ITS FILE\DefaultIcon

All of these keys were set to some dll in Cadence PSD directory. If you want to be able to read your chm e-books again, then the field “(default)” in the above keys should be set to C:\WINDOWS\system32\itss.dll

PLEASE NOTE: This information is valid for Windows XP Professional and for Cadence PSD 15.0. IF YOU ARE GOING TO CHANGE ANYTHING IN YOUR REGISTRY YOU SHOULD BACK IT UP FIRST!!!

i have the same configuration, but i do not have any problem using .chm files.
