problem of 200A battery charger 12V/24V...

now i have one battery charger 12V/24V output is (position at 12V ) is about 30V
(position at 24V ) is 60V . the input is 240V. like that can charge 24V battery??
if charge what will happen??
 

That is just crude / cheap regulation that depends on the battery
to hold down the voltage. Battery doesn't really care, as long as
you keep it cool (which at 4800W, only part of it taken off as
chemical energy, shouldn't be left to chance).
 

the output have problem...
is the transformer have problem??
normally the output is how many??

i no measure with battery...
i have measured in open output...
the results is (at position 12V=31V)
(position 24V=60V) my battery only 12V
i have already use spring to load it,the amp is normally,but i no connect to battery
i thing the battery will burn or explosion
 

Hi,
Can you apply pls some load, i.e 2 lamps/bulbs form a car in serial (parallel depending of your switched modus) connection and so measure?
The 40/50W bulbs double parallel are on 12 V ca 50% load for your charger (if Im correct: for 200A battery you will have a cahrging current of ca. 20A) & so must your apparat a relative intelligent output value deliver_otherwise give it back pls(in my opinion)...
What means pls "i have already use spring to load it,"?

i use a spring to load the charger to test the amp is functioning or not...
now my problem is the charger can charge to a 12/24v battery or not??
as your experience u think can it charge battery ?
 

Hi what i understand is U have 200AH battery but another thing which i couldn't understood is whether battery is 12v or 24v.

You have to charge the battery at c/10 rate.
I understood that your battery is not charging may be that problem is on the charging side.

You have to control the voltage for 12v battery and give 14.2 v battery voltage limit and 20A Battery current limit. Than it woks fine.

my battery charger is 12V and 24V, it have switch to change ... 2way..
i dint charge any battery yet... i scare will broken the battery or charger..
i think not the charging side, u think is my transformer have problem??
the position 12V output is 30V... that is not normal right??
and the 24V output is 60V..
 

You see; as I wrote: their are loadless output voltages!
Maybe your charger is a litle bit unconventional (I would say_BAD) if dont have a load.
Ths was the reason that I wrote: you need some load (lamps or resistors) to check it_maybe with a samll load it will be regulated (or on the begin to realer voltages_I assume i.e. at 15-16 V for 12V modus_but even, with a portion load!

ok... but normally loadless output must be normally at 14.5V like that...
if let say i use a resistor to load it how many ohm and watt i need to use

Otherwise it depends every time form realized internal circuit...
You didnt answer me on my question (some earlier); is it a 200A charger or a charger for 200Ah battery? First means a charging current of 20(eventually 10)A, later even i.e. 200A ...
Load resistor for 12v (nominal charged voltage=at14.5V) is Rload=14.5V/20A=2.9Ohm
If you apply a resistor of 3.3...4.7 Ohm, with P=50W with some cooling plate! You will be on the right side... All for 17..20A charging/loading & only for short time check & be care with dissipating heaths!!.

sry...that is a 200A battery charger..
ok... and now my charger is 200A so i need use 29 ohm resistor??
 

I think, its OK if you will test it not with full load...
So is for me i.e. a 2.2 Ohm for the 200A/12V charger (at 10% preloading) a good compormise.

my transformer is wrong count the turn oh the coil...
so need redo the transformer...
u know about it...
