Problem Installing Synopsys 2002 on RH9.0

I am trying to install Synopsy 2002.05 on RH 9.0. I tried using

export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1

and my installation is stucking at

WARNING: Invalid platform(s) LINUX. Skipping ...

Select platform(s) to install:
{
LINUX
}
Enter the list of platform(s) to install [LINUX]:
linux

Can anyone plz help me out.

you can change your linux to version 7.*

Just comment lines 51 and 52 in the install.now script and it should work....

I managed to go through that portion of the installation. However the installer is giving another error of not being able to uncompress the archive files. I think it is because uncompress is no longer there in RH9.

Can you adivce me how can I come along this error.
 

ln -s /usr/bin/gunzip /usr/bin/uncompress
 

are you unpackage your syn*.common.tar & syn*.linux.tar at same directory?
 

"mv LINUX linux" or "mv linux LINUX" as I posted in another thread.
