Hi.
I started to design a new board base on Virtex6.
We used W5300 (Embedded Ethernet Controller from Wiznet) in last works and I'm familiar with it and it's easy to me to use it.
but the problem is that W5300 works with 3.3v and Virtex6 operate on VCCO =2.5v.

Is that a good idea to connect them with voltage translators? (there is 36 bit connection between them)
Is there any other module like W5300 that supports 2.5v interface?

My message to Wiznet:

WIZNET Rplied:
Hi,
According to W5300's DC characteristics(refer to datasheet page 119),
You can connect W5300 board to your board.
But we does'nt recommanded this connection for board stability.
We recommand to use voltage shifter.

Thanks.

Hi,
One consideration is that your board can input W5300's 3.3V output?
In other words, W5300 can input your input 2.5V.
But I wonder your board can input W5300 output 3.3V ?

Thanks.
