Prime time is a Timing analysis tool . It doesn't fix any timing violations , only reports timing information.

Primetime can do setup and hold fixing using "fix_eco_timing" command and suggest the changes.
You can write the changes suggested by primetime to fix setup/hold violations using "write_changes" command.
You can source the tcl file generated by "write_changes" command directly into ICC

Prime time doesn't fix violations , its a analysis tool. The command "fix_eco_timing" will give suggestions about violations , but PT doesn't rectify violations itself. To rectify it , you can source that suggestions into ICC , as u have mentioned above.

Correct if i am wrong !!
