Hey Guys any one tell me is this circuit is suitable for power supply with backup battery
if not give me the circuit for the same.
my aim is the battery has to produce power at the time of power fails.
if there is a power the battery has to charge.

this is my circuit

What kind of battery is it? 12V lead acid? It's important to determine the correct kind of charger.

It should function. However it may not be very good from efficiency and charging perspective. R2 would dissipate power while battery is charging. Battery would continue to see higher charge voltage.

Its 12V sealed Lead acid battery. how to make this circuit efficient.

Take a look at the article below. On page 9 and 10 charging is explained. Page 10 contains a schematic with a LM317. It is a correct and safe way to charge a lead
acid battery and more efficient. Even more efficient solutions exist but they may be more complicated and expensive.
