Do you like April-fool jokes? Claiming the presented inverter would be able to deliver 1000W is a pretty good one.

Today it is the 1st of April: April Fool's Day!!!
Please take a look at the width of the PCB traces: at such power (1000W/12V) the MEAN current will be more than 80A.
Let's suppose their width is 30 mils and the thickness of the copper 70 um, the maximum current (with a temperature rise of 40°C) possible will be 6A!!!
Not mentioning the voltage drop for a 20cm track length: about 0.48V
With a such load the PCB tracks will vaporize in few seconds!!!!
Take also a look at the acid traps in the really POOR layout of the PCB... :cry:

And I just do not want to discuss about the schematics/components used!!!

BEWARE!!!: do not try to reproduce this "project". It is absolutely CRAP!!!!

Please remember this simple rule: with a power supply of only 12V it is almost useless to develop an inverter with more than 600W power. The losses in cables/connections/components will waste the most part of the energy in heat.
Over 600W of continuous power is ALWAYS suggested to work with at least 24V, even better 48V or more.

the circuit may be working but the power transistor has to be placed outside board.
 

You can supply up to 24 volts with no exploxions of IC because it regulated by Transistor, it just add another output powers

Ever heard of the brand new type of components called mosfets?

Like the **broken link removed**: ID=300A, VBRDSS=60V, RDSon=1.9mOhm
 

The winding is 12 0 12 240 240 zero is center tap

Hi levon18 lopez,how can you briefly explain how this inverter of yours can deliver 1000watts and as i can see this inverter is a square wave output, since their is no voltage control what do you think is going to happen when powering sensitive load?
 

I do not think **broken link removed** for 1000 pieces is a too high price!!!
Surely it is cheaper than 7x 2N3055 combined with their HUGE thermal dissipator.

With such mosfets your thermal dissipator will also be very small.

*) it means about 2x5USD for the single 2 pieces you will need for such inverter

There are two limitations on the power handling ability of a
transistor: average junction temperature and second breakdown.
 

adjusting the potentiomer will change the freq of the oscilator but not duty cycle and since you are using 4013 as flip flop the duty cycle will be 50%, therefore your output can not be control.
 

F=1/T= 1.44/((RA+RB*2)*C)

TL= 0.693*RB*C

TH= 0.693*(RA+RB)*C

D= Duty Cycle= (RA+RB)/(RA+2*RB)

Or,

RA= 1.44**(2*D-1)/(F*C)

RB= 1.44*(1-D)/(F*C)

The minimum duty cycle is 50 percent, so if you need a smaller duty cycle you need to use an inverter on the output.
