sir,

i have some project for power factor correction, generally people in industry

senses p.f, and it is fed to power factor controller .according to differece between

actual p.f and set p.f switch on contactors which swtches capacitor banks, which

corrects power factor of line, now many people asks switching of capacitor

bank through thyristor,as per my knowledge for these application high piv (more

than 1800v to 2200v) is required. any other specific circuit or precaution is necessary ? does anybody have proven driver cjt for thyristor?
