Hi,
I have to develop a Power Control Circuit that I have to use how Programmable Dimmer for 3 Halogen Lamps (3*1500Watts).
I would design the control circuit with an integrated microcontroller that I'd like to use to drive a power device.
For Power Device and schematic function, I can use Triac, SCR, IGB and Mosfet.
I would like to receive your suggestion to finde the best choice for a robust and high quality of power control circuit.
For the Power control design, I can use a zero crossing detection circuit of the 220V-50Hz and than I can develop a variable delay of this ZC to make the pulse for the Power device such us SCR, TRIAC, IGBT or Mosfet.
Also, I'd like to find an alternative choice to control the Light Intensity of the lamps....such us voltage control circuit in DC and so on.
what do you think?...I have to develop a traditional Power Control Circuit with time delay and zero crossing detection or DC voltage control circuit?
For the Power Control Circuit with time delay and zero crossing, What do you suggest?...SCR, TRIAC, IGBT or MOSFET to drive 3 halogen lamp of 1500watts?

Best Regards

valerio

for an alternative if you won't use Uc. there is TCA785 phase control ic from Siemens its a very handy&small ic with a built in zero crossing and ordinary outputs for activating Mosfets, igpts, scr, triacs, also there is inverted o/ps. just download the datasheet you'll like it. also check the applications in the datasheet;there is many application written in the datasheet for dimmers.
