Hi Everyone,

My aim is to operate a power contactor using microcontroller. contactor rating is 415v Ac and coil requires 24v DC and 12A current. What can be the interface between microcontroller and contactor.

You can consider different MOSFET, for example the IRF540 or a couple of "smaller" MOSFETs connected in parallel ..

Hi devmania,
You can use optocouple to isolate the uC output and the 24V. driver circuit as mentioned by IanP.

You may use this circuit for driving the contactor.
Cheers
