spartan 3 power consumption

Hi!
I'm doing a design with a Spartan 3 FPGA (XC3S400). I need to design a power supply for it, but I have no experience how much current it can drain from 1.2V line. So how much current can it drain, if most of the resources are used? Should I go for LDO or a switching regulator?

If you are using ISE tool from Xilinx, the tool can estimate the power consumption of your design.

First, you need to write a test bench. Based on the test bench, the tool will estimate the total current drawn and power consumption, though I really don't know how accurate the results are.
