Thanks for your answer alanphydenics.
I tried to plot the conversion gain curves as well as the IMD curves 2w1-w2 in the same graph when the input power was sweeped. I used the SOI and TOI simulation from the mixer design guide, with the only change that the input power was sweeped.
Then I used RF=mix(Vload,{1,1,0}) and IMD=mix(Vload,{1,2,-1}) (I have a upconverter mixer, RF is therefore my output)
and ploted RF and IMD in the same graph.
The RF output seems okey, the slope is about 1 and the compression points seems to be the same as from the compression point simulation with the XDB controller.
Now, the third-order IMD should have a slope of 3 right? However the slope of the 3rd IMD is more like 1.5.
Maybe I should not care to much about the IP3
but it's annoying when basic theroy and simulations don't agree.
I sweeped the inpower from -20 dBm to 20 dBm, the compression point where something about 15 dBm.
Maybe the input power level is to high, to get an accurate value for IP3?
Best regards
