Hi, i am saving the gds frm encounter via streamOut command and then streaming in in the virtuoso.
When i am running the lvs on the exported gds, It shows ports mismatch problem. Actually encounter is making the labels in M1 drawing instead of M1 pin layer when i am reading in the virtuoso. When i am manually changing the layer to M1 pin, the problem gets resolved but i want to get clear solution. Please share your answers.
Thanks

just use a streamin map to convert the layerurpose pair of the label to the correct purpose for LVS recognition

May be this is a misunderstanding? If I understand Pareek correctly, the Encounter tool didn't streamOut a separate M1 pin layer. The pin labels are already on the M1 drawing layer, so cannot be separated from the routing metal wires.

2 suggestions:

1. Perhaps there's setUp possibility to tell Encounter to which layerurpose it should put the pin labels?

2. If not, you could copy all M1:drawing structures to M1in. I hope the additional routing wires on M1in won't disturb the LVS.

I lose all connectivity info when I stream out. The polygons
are there, the properties are not.

My approach is to select & copy the pins from the Cadence
layout onto the streamed-in version (if I'm checking mask
shop "blowbacks" etc.).

Of course if you don't have that layout you may be in for a
more tedious method (adding by hand).

Pareek are you sure that it is encounter and not streamin that first maps labels to M1:drawing? usually encounter generates a lot of connectivity info in the GDS, but it does not necessarily use stream numbers compatible with virtuoso default map (in the techfile of the techlib or in a separate map file in the techlib dir), if streamin finds an unknown purpose code on an esisting layer number it will default to 'drawing' purpose
