Port programming through C

I want to control a parallel port(os win98) with a pc with help of C.Help me and give basic guidence or preferrable book.
 

I think he is talking about C and not C++ or am I wrong?

I'm using TVicPort and TVicHW32. Both are DLL-based, so it is not important which programming language are you using.
