It is a clock based on Arduino and inspired by another design on this webpage: LINK.
List of elements you need for this construction:
- two displays 2416
- Arduino or the processor Atmega328 with crystal quartz 16MHz and capacitors
- DS1307
- crystal quartz 32,768kHz
- Li battery 3V
- stabilizer 5V
- two buttons
- a color LED
- wire
Schematic:
Program was downloaded from LINK.
Firstly, you have to connect displays to the Arduino. After uploading software and checking whether it works properly, you can reduce the content of the circuit. In order to do that, you can mount all the necessary elements on the board.
Pictures:
The base was engraved and cut using a laser, from dimmed plexiglass, and then bent. The universal board has a 16-pin connector under it directly plugged in the first matrix display. The matrix are linked together. Each of them has a separately set address on a dip-switch. Displays are screwed on distance pins to the plexiglass and 4 allen screws.
The clock has four display modes:
- ping pong
- big clock (as in the first photo)
- text mode (in English)
- mode of randomly displayed pixels creating the correctly displayed picture at the end
The fifth mode is random displaying the four above modes.

The attachment includes HEX file that is to be uploaded to Atmega328. It is not necessary to use Arduino.
