Here, it is given terminal voltage is the closing side of the whole polygon. My question is how did this happen?
I can not understand the underlined lines.

It appears correct. In this case, the closing side is AB.

On the other hand, I do not understand your question: how did this happen?

What is the reference for "this"? Please reframe your question in more detail and ask again.

The text underlined in red may not be very clear but is not wrong. So please reask!

I think, the problem behind the question is lack of understanding about AC machines and why the phasors or mapped to a half-circle. The text on the copied book page is probably presuming reading of previous chapters.

My suggestion is re-read from the start or review electrical machines text books with more intuitive explanation.

I know, I know. Young students do struggle with some of these concepts (and when they are getting some idea about vectors, they encounter complex numbers. We also had a deep suspicion that our teachers too were not very clear about what they were talking. Enlightenment was never easy!
