Hi
I'm newbie in PIC programming,so I've bought a PIC16F84A and want to programmed it,I Convinced that it's easy to do it but i really found it as nightmare,
I've build many circuits depend on JDM,and ICSPP circuits and use winhex and PICPgm Programmer as programming software ,

but all my tries are failed, and googled for tracing the issues and wast long time without any result.
So pls if someone has built a programmer circuit for PIC16F84A and it worked for him pls,pls share its circuit diagram, parts number and the programming SW he used and will very appreciate for him

Hi
you can use jdm with ic prog its so easy
i had the same & i learnt with this programmer & 16f84
Good luck

Hi,

Assuming you have a parallel port as well a a serial ? then this well proven circuit should work fine for you, used to use it myself long ago.

Go to this page , select Hardware and then the circuit for the P16Pro.

Oshonsoft has free PIC USB Programmer circuit and also code of programmer provided. You can use PIC simulator IDE demo to compile and get the .hex file for programmer.

Thanks for all of u for ur concern
,with respect to W100 post,
Thanks for attachment and I've visited the site that u refer to and went to the hardware page but i didn't find a hardware to select, but i found a circuit called "P16PRO Programmer (KIT96 & KIT119)"

is it the same as the one u attached or different and which one u recommend to try,and

What's the recommended software to use for burning?

Hi,

Yes, the circuit in my pdf is the same as the Pic16pro, just the pcb layout is a bit different.

The software I used and how to set it up is fully detailed in the pdf.

Thanks for all of u
Hi milan.rajik
I'm gonna make two version one parallel port and the other is serial port
which i chose from ur links "Serial Port Pro PIC-PIC18-PIC16-AVR Programmer" (the middle link),
but i really want to ask a question
what's the function of the file which u will compile?

Hi,

As you have already found, though interesting, building your own programmer can be very frustrating, and when added up, quiet expensive; plus many of these types of programmers are often very limited in just the old type of pic chips they can actually program.

After your initial failed units you are now going to try building another two....

You will find simply buying a genuine Microchip Pickit2 or preferably the newer Pickit3 programmers are a much better and possibly cheaper option.

You will then have a decent programmer with debugger and tools built in, so allowing you concentrate on programming and building your Pic chip projects.

Been there, got the Pickit and glad I did !

Thanks wp100
for ur recommendation u r right, but really my target is learning how to make a pic burner and programming the pic,
if i bought a ready made pic burner then i didn't learn any thing,i just use it for programming
