Some day this student may be designing a circuit for your car or expensive plasma TV. Do you really think it's wise to be doing their homework for them?

Dennize - it would be better if you worked out the problem, and then asked about your results if you aren't sure about them.

An answer has been given, but how was it obtained? Is it correct? How do you know?

i know how to solve this problem using mesh analysis but the only problem is how to solve the unknown A? in the given independent source,,and by the way the only given in this problem is the voltage drop at V2 and V3,,did you see that,,how are you going to solve this in oder way using nodal analysis,tnx

You know that is exactly the place I wanted you to be. In others
words, the underlining issues here are the following:
1) You are not a lazy student who need to deliver a homework, for
what I can see you did study, you worked it out, you know the
techniques to solve it, and you are looking for more information.
2) That does not mean you are going to be a stupid engineer making
stupid design as someone said.
3) I did not tell you the process to come up with the answer.
4) The problem itself is just a stupid question for someone who believe
that being smart is more important than work hard. I will explain it later.
Just see this:


5) The problem does not ask you to solve for A. I did not solve it either.
6) The problem has a trick, and that does not means you are going to be
a better engineer or not if you solve it, it is just a trick, and that is what I
do not agree with those kind of questions. It does not test how much the student
work or the kind of training the student is receiving, it is just testing how smart
is the question or how smart is the professor asking for it.
7) I was once a professor but more importantly I was a student, now I know
the tricks. But that does not means you will be a bad engineer just because the
tricks are showed to you earlier.

With all that said I am going to tell you just his, the secret is in the minus sign.
You figure it out.. Let me know if you do....

I doubt you ever were a professor. One as arrogant and sarcastic as yourself could never keep a job at a university.

You also have difficulty reading and understanding. Nobody attacked you or your original post. All I did was post an opinion regarding what was necessary from the requestor. He has done what was asked in my post - he has demonstrated an effort to solve the problem on his own.

Come down from your high horse, and play nicely.

Was that a PERSONAL attack?..... Wow. I did not see it coming....

That is contradiction, arrogant are the only one who can keep a job at the
university, just like the one who ask the question or the ones who defend
the question.

You're not looking carefully enough at the problem.

What is the voltage across the 5ohm resistor? Write it down.

Now look at the voltages around the outside of the mesh. Two of the voltages are given to you (v3 and the voltage across the 1F capacitor).

You said you knew how to do mesh analysis. If you simply write the voltage relationships around the outside loop of the mesh, you'll have your answer.

Post again if you still don't see the answer.
