Hi,
I just want to know if a PIC16F84-04P or PIC16F628-04P oscillator will work with 8MHz crystal if the oscillator fuse is set to _HS while programming?
Regards

A few years ago I built many (thousands) cable descramblers which were using a 16F84-04P with an 8 MHz crystal without any problems, not one processor failed :)

So I think it is (was) nearly 100% safe to do that.

best regards
