good evening to everyone here. please give me a simple design of 12VDC to 220AC 500W inverter that I can assemble.

Well, i think i have to build the complete circuit and connect to the controller before i will have to ask you about the polarity stuff in details. That means in the software these signals are checked and must be in good condition before the inverter will oscillate. That is a nice design. More power to your elbow.

Hi, mr Taner,i build sheme. She works fine, tank you. Output signal is the better than 220V . I have build UPS for my TV, but there are several obstacles. After the reset is about 3-4 seconds waiting time, which will cause cessation of TV and run again. There is no way you do so immediately, to switch without waiting? Synchronization with the 220V is not required. Maybe there will be a problem with the feedback voltage / Vout /. And another thing, monitoring of current is associated with many confuzion. How can I exclude?

Hi maharadga,
very good job, output signal is a pure sine-wave, congratulation.
Is this delay time (3-4 sec) occurs only when starting the inverter or periodically.
Can you show me the pictures of the signal b/a (on RA0 - pin2 of the PIC MCU) and the level of this signal. How much volts is the level of this signal.
If this signal become higher than one constant value (ab_max=63) then inverter will going in the fault mode for more than 10 seconds.
I am waiting for your reply.
I made some changes in code, try .hex file included in attachment.

Hi, Taner,
after i start inverter power green led for 1 s, then turn off and power red for 1 s, then red turn off, power green again and inverter starts/ have oscillacions /. In pictures i see, that b and a signals very smallest, than b/a signal to MCU. Maybe its normal?
I try hex code after several days and reply you.

pwm inverter design

Hi maharadga,
b/a signal (pin2 - RA0/AN0) must include only a low levels of the separeted 'a' and 'b' signals (pin2 and pin1 - U10). If b/a signal include only a high-levels of signals 'a' and 'b', then you must change a connection places of this two signals to pin1 and pin2 of the U10 (a<->b and b<->a).
Did you connect all feedback signals to PIC MCU. This is important for proper work of the inverter.

Hi, Taner. I try hex file. I not see some diferents. Maybe only standbay level is changed small. I think inverter not "see" small loads / less than 10 W / and not turn on automaticaly. And in short circuit LM324 break down. I try replace curent transformer with another circuit. I think with optocouplers is better. I upload movie you see how my inverter starts after reset. In previous post i said you. Is is normal start? I want inverter start at once. Is this possibly?

Hi,
please could you advise me where to get Аltium Designer 08 software, that i couln't find it on google to download. I'm intresting to make this inverter
note: I'm from Kurdistan region of Iraq and the main Elect. is not available only 6 hours/day

i found some details, that affect design, maybe.

1- T1 and T3 is very hot, whenn inverter work, even if no loads, T2 and T4 is cold.

2- Output voltage is 170V max /my trafo has secondary 6V /. I try replace R4 and R10 with 27k, then i can adjust over 200V, but above 210V inverter stops/ overvoltage protection/. Under voltage protection is 100V / if i not change anyting/.

3- Output voltage is adjust automaticaly if +12V change from 6 to 16V/ Uout +- 5V /. However if load is changes from 5 to 30W, Uout is +- 15V. I cannot try max of 30W, because my powersupply is max 3A / i not have lead acid at the this stage /

I have problem with start invertor`s / see up/. If invertor not start immediately, i cannot use him for my job. I cannot make UPS for my PC and TV. It possibly mistake is my, i dont now.
Somebody build circuit? How inverter start? Immediately or after 2 seconds?

Tank`s for the code. Now inverter starts immediately. Tank`s very mach! Design work like swisswatch. Now i analyze in details its work.
First: my secondary coil has 6V and max voltage produce without distortions is 170V. In your design secondary coil is 8V and i not undersand how you produce 220V. All the same this is trifle. I analise it and reply everybody.

I try only inverter. If i resolve some problems, try to build all UPS. I thing for lead acid charger build separate sheme, maybe with TOPSwitch family, because secondary coil voltage not enough. With TOPSwith family design is small and easy.

Can you tell us what efficiency has your design ? Personally I expect more that 75%. And do you planning some kind of remote control interface ?

this design would not be possible without your invaluable help.

Efficiency of this inverter is around 80-85% and depends on the transformer design, MOSFET Quality (lower Rds, less power losses) and the Output Power (or Input Current). Higher input current through the MOSFETs leads to more power dissipation on transistors.
I am not plannig for the moment to use a some special remote control interface.
I am planning to put only a RS232 interface for communication with PC and this interface can be used like remote control with proper PC application software.

I've got a problem with first flight on the inverter.

I connected input to 12VDC power supply , load wasn't connected yet.

the LEDs just blink once for each ,then noting else.

I use pic 16f876 instead of 16f876A burn via mplap

I've already check pwm and sine signals form MCU ,but there are no response.

may be, i must change "C code Header form 16f876A to 16f876"?

before starting , i removed all feedback ( voltage,current,temperature).



what should i do next?
