pi controller for DC-DC converter

You have to be more specific. Why are you going for a pi controller? It's a pretty elaborate topology, so unless you actually need all its features it's not worthwhile. Do you want bidirectional power control? Or ultrawide input-output voltage range?

edit: also there are a couple topologies referred to as pi converters (split pi, single inductor pi, etc). Could you clarify with a schematic?
