functional addressing can

Hi,
What is the difference between these two in CAN diagnostics protocol like KWP or UDS..?

Thanks ,

functional address

Do you have the ISO15765-4 document? I guess there it should have been explained. I saw some sources are referring there for defintion of physical and functional addressing.

Functional addressing is an addressing scheme that labels messages based upon their operation code or content. Physical addressing is an addressing scheme that labels messages based upon the physical address location of their source and/or destination(s).
