hi all, here are several questions about phase noise at LC VCO

(1). In my opinion, there are four systems: Linear Time Invarant, Linear Time Varant, Nonlinear Time Invarant and Nonlinear Time Varant. If I want to analyze the phase noise at LC VCO, which system is resonable?
I ever study some phase noise models of VCOs such as Leeson's, Abidi's and Razavi's,but these medels focus on ring VCOs and based on linear theory.

(2).About the LC VCO's phase noise source, can you recomment me any papers? Especially the overview papers! I ever study ring VCO's phase noise source but now I'm confused by the phase noise source at LC VCO.

thank you very much!
I am a fresh man in designing LC VCO ang I hope u a nice day.

Hi,

In order to analize the phase noise at LC VCO, you can use a LTV (Linear Time Varianting), because phase noise affects signal in several ways, in the peak values as much as zero crossing. The impulse response is different, depending the time as you put a such impulse.

You can view more details, and precissions in "A General Theory of Phase Noise in Electrical Oscillators" by Hajimiri and Lee, donwloable at the follow link:

try this....its also very good
