calibre extract

can we extract a PEX calibre view from extraction (i.e. schematic view) using mentor flow, i used to make this view using calibre but on Cadence's virtuoso layout editor and it seems really dumb if calibre can generate this view in cadence flow but fail to do so in mentor flow !!

post layout simulation pex

I couldn't get your question, please make it more clear

PEX

i mean that when i use calibre PEX to do parasitic extraction under cadence flow (i.e. using virtuoso layout editor) i can choose the extraction to be what is called "calibre view" which when opened by cadence's schematic editor it contains the devices placed in places relative to their placement in layout, i tired to generate the same view using calibre but under mentor flow (i.e. using ic station and Design architect) but i failed to make the same calibre view and the only view that i could generate is the normal "eldo" spice view (netlist)

Re: PEX

please correct me if I'm wrong.
You have a layout on Virtuoso & you used calibre to parasitics extraction & then post layout simulation.
1. If you want to do post layout simulation doing Cadence flow set the output netlist format in calibre as Spectre format
2. If you want to uase Mentor flow, set the output netlist format in calibre as Eldo format
you then will have may outputs, Simulate the file ended with *.pex.netlist. this netlist also has a .include statement to include another netlist.
I have experience with Mentor flow so if you need anything in mentor flow, don't hesitate to ask me.
I hope I came to the point
best regards,
Rania

PEX

SA,
ok, maybe i am not clear enough.
i am now working under mentor flow (complete flow : schematic-layout -simulation) and i need to extract parasitics in a schematic view form (called calibre view) this schematic view have the following properties:
1- devices are placed in positions like in layout view
2- all nets are named as in schematic
3- parasitics are placed in a part of the schematic together
this view (calibre view) is what i used to get while using calibre but under cadence , i need to make the same view but under mentor.

p.s. i don't want a netlist view (eldo / spectre)
thnx and regards,
Safwat

Re: PEX

AA,
I've checked & it seems that this feature is for calibre that integrated with Virtuoso
I'm checking now this feature integration with ICStation & I'll send you again ISA.
best regards,
Rania

Added after 5 minutes:

AA,
According to the user manual I have for calibre & ICStation this feature is not supported.
if you need anything regarding mentor tools don't hesitate to ask
best regards,
Rania
