Hi Friends,

What are the basic theoritical definitions of Permiability(µ) & Permitivity(ε)?
How are they differed from each other literally and techincally?

1. the property of being permeable
2. the rate of flow of a fluid through a porous material
3. (geology) a measure of the ability of a rock to transmit water
4. (physics) a quantitative measure of the degree of magnetization of a material in the presence of an applied magnetic field (in terms of, for instance, Newtons per square Amperes in SI units).

Permittivity
it is a physical quantity that describes how an electric field affects and is affected by a dielectric medium, and is determined by the ability of a material to polarize in response to the field, and thereby reduce the total electric field inside the material. Thus, permittivity relates to a material's ability to transmit (or "permit") an electric field.

It is directly related to electric susceptibility. For example, in a capacitor, an increased permittivity allows the same charge to be stored with a smaller electric field (and thus a smaller voltage), leading to an increased capacitance.

So, the first one is related to the magnetic field, as another one is related to the electric field.
