Hi,
Anyone worked with the Winbond chip WTS701. It is suppose to translate ASCII stream to speech. It is to be used with a microcontroller.

Just wondering is anyone used id and can give me some feedback on its performance. :sm16:

ascii to speech program for sp0256

I dont know your IC but I used Votrax SC01 very nice for microcontroller.

sp0256 programming

Yes very nice, maybe..
But also very old...It's simular to the SP0256 IC.
I tried the Sp0256 and it works nice, but it also produces a robotic un naturale voice.

thanx alot for the info

ascii to speech chip

Have you thought of using the RC8650 instead?
It's a little more expensive in low quantity, but I
believe it to be of better quality than the Winbond
unit.
