PCI bus, PCI controller(card or integrated on motherboard), the difference?

Hi guys,

I don't know the difference between these 4 terms. infact,I know what PCI card and PCI slots are, but I don't understand where the PCI bus is.
if i considering these two cases that:

1-PCI controller is a PCI CARD (so not integrated)

2-PCI controller is INTEGRATED in Motherboard



The PCI bus, is it the "traces" on the "Motherboard" in both cases?

or in case 1 that we have a PCI controller card,Is the interconnection between a PCI card and a PCI slot called PCI bus (so this bus is not on the motherboard anymore)?

PCI uses buses as pathways that connect peripheral devices like the keyboard, mouse, monitor and printer to the motherboard.PCI serial controllers use the PCI bus to provide a data path between the central processing unit and an external device. Although serial ports work at low speeds, they can be useful for connecting older devices to a motherboard.

so the PCI bus traces are the traces on the motherboard in both cases. isn't it?
