I'm about to order a 4 layer PCB and found an interesting website "PCB Shopper" that may be of use for anyone ordering a PCB, you enter your PCB criteria and the the website instantly provides quotes from numerous PCB houses, the link is here: https://pcbshopper.com/

I entered my criteria and it does come up with a low cost option Bay Area Circuits, has anyone used this PCB house?

Website states they have been in business for 40 years, but I can't seem to find any reviews. The other odd thing is that one of my favourite PCB houses, AP Circuits shows up at the bottom of the list, however the price is inflated, I know this because I very recently ordered an almost identical board and the actual cost was about 1/2 what the price shopper tool is showing.

Haven't tried out that PCB house yet, but the tool does seem to work rather well because for a reference search ITEAD popped up in the top 3, which is my preferred fab house because of their quality and price. So I'd give it a try if I were you. If you pay with PayPal then you're anyways protected so if the boards never arrive then you'll get a full refund. Nothing to lose!

I'm the person behind PCBShopper. If you see an error on PCBShopper, please let me know. I have a Contact Us link on the top menu, and in the right column I say "Have you found an error? Please let us know!"

Tell me the PCB specs you entered and the manufacturer whose price you think is wrong, and I'll look into it - I usually fix problems within 24 hours. If you want to hear about the status of the problem, include your e-mail in the contact form. I'm just an electronics hobbyist - I'm not a company - and I will never spam you.

Great to have you on board, Bob Alexander! Let me start by congratulating you on the awesome programming job you did there, the hobby community in particular has been lacking such a tool for too long, forcing limited budget projects to spend more money than necessary on boards.

I was only mentioning Itead when I was training someone this week as a good place to get prototyes & he was telling me how it was far cheaper than his current prototype supplier.
I'll add pcb shopper to the list I give people as it looks useful.

Bob, when you want the info on the full version of CADSTAR let me know ;)
