PCB question ?

Normally the PCB layout software will do this for you. When the parts are placed and it has been routed, you normally get several files for the PCB manufacturer to use. They are the board outline and drill map, the top copper traces, the bottom copper traces and the silk screen layers (top and sometimes bottom as well). The silk screen layer is the one printed to show the component outlines and part numbers.

I understand that software's like ( eagle , proteus and ...etc ) do the silk layers . but think I wasn't clear asking my question , so here it again .
How to do the components outline and parts on top layer at home . same like we do laser print transfer
thank you

I think the question is how to actually do the silk screen printing at home rather than how to produce the artwork.

I've never tried it myself but I believe you can get photo-sensitive paint which you spray over the whole board before exposing to UV with the silk screen negative. A similar process to removing copper but removing unwanted paint instead so the graphics are left behind. It may also be possible to use transfer sheets similar to the ones used for making tee-shirts. This is a question you should take to a local art store, they probably have experience of silk screen printing techniques. I'm no expert on this, I've always had the PCB manaufacturer do it for me.

That's solder masks but if white paint is available I suppose the same technique should work for silk screen layers.
I'm not sure if it's feasible to do at home but an X-Y plotter with a white ink pen would give nice results.
